Million Dollar Quartet

(above) George Cohen, Mr. Broadway , himself

Not much to say tonight. We ended the day with a trip to the top of the Empire State Building and saw one of the best shows on Broadway. "Million Dollar Quartet" Great show does not exactly describe it. If any of you have the opportunity go see it.
We board the ship tomorrow....later...

Give my regards to Broadway

We all met up this morning after breakfast. When asked what everyone wanted to do, I suggested well since we are in NYC, maybe we should go to Ground Zero, ride the Staten Island Ferry, visit the Statue of Liberty or the Museum of Natural History. I was quickly outvoted and we proceeded to the nearest Skecher's shoe store. It was very educational. I never knew there were so many Skecher styles. If you find yourself in NYC, please don't miss the Skecher store.
I also suggested Macy's, however a street vendor won out. After that, we took a break from shopping and took a lunch break at the Pig and Whistle restaurant. Great little restaurant.
While at the restaurant, the Cruise committee met to discuss a future cruise schedule. As you know we do this every two years. It was unanimous that the 2012 trip will be an Alaskan Cruise originating from Seattle, WA and ending in Alaska. Tentative for 2014 will be a Hawaiian cruise.
This cruise title is listed as the Class of '66 Cruise, however, there are several classes on the cruise. Donna Hatfield Dodd is a member of the Class of '70 and there are several other classes represented. I will post that information as I receive it.
Today will be a two part entry as we are all getting ready to go see a Broadway Show, "the Million Dollar Quartet" with dinner to follow. Until then....Jerry

Day 1, NYC

Irish restaurant...the mean Fiddler

View from our hotel room. (at least we have a window)
As the day winds down, the '66 vanguard has arrived safely in New York City. Jean and her husband are on a two hour ride into the city from JFK and Sybil, Ellen and Nelda are crossing the Brooklyn bridge coming into town. It is now 8:00 pm. As for Linda and myself, we had a leisurely supper at the Mean Fiddler, a quaint, but expensive Irish pub. I did not realise Chicken Pot Pie cost so much money. It is raining now and winds tomorrow are forecast up to 50 knots.
We can't wait. I just hope the boat we are getting on Saturday is carrying the Auburn-Arkansas football game.

Country comes to town

Preview....blog post later...Status report on '66 class..

Linda and I had an uneventful flight to NYC out of Atlanta. There were some airplane problems in New Orleans and Jean, Sybil, Ellen and Nelda ended up on different planes. Ellen, Sybil and Nelda are in Memphis. Jean is in Detroit and Linda and I are going out for dinner.

We walked around Times Square and saw some interesting sites. I'll share a few....The guy in the picture is a world famous fashion designer from Germany. Reporter and TV crew were following him arond Times Square. Never heard of him..
